The “Markaz” as is popularly known is a non-profit, non-government organization founded in 1978 by a group of Filipino students abroad, and in particular at the State of Kuwait, headed by the late Mohammad Qassem Malaco Tarusan. It was officially registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Manila in 1983.
